Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area situated in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" location. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of diverse communities. For those who haven't been aware of it frequently mistake it for an island that is west-facing. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often mentioned, but her brief time in the city was not. Brugel grew in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. When she was a child she wanted to be the next big thing in her career, but a sudden increase in her height made it difficult. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. When I grew out of male companions at that point, I gave up. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the instance of Brugel, it was an urging by her teacher in drama. The teacher encouraged her to take part in an audition in the school's production. After trying out the role, she was chosen as the main character in Anne of Green Gables. It led to her receiving the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts at York University. For the past twenty years, Brugel's roles in the world of television and on the screen have varied. The role of Rita from the award winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel played the role of Rita in the Handmaid's Tale which was filming over 10 years ago.
